Dr. Fowler is a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry) physician and board-certified Pain Medicine specialist with extensive experience across the full spectrum of physiatric care — musculoskeletal, spinal, and neurological conditions, traumatic brain and spinal cord injury, stroke, amputation and prosthetic rehabilitation, post-surgical and post-traumatic recovery, sports injuries, and acute and chronic pain. As a physiatrist, he evaluates the whole patient, addressing function, mobility, and long-term rehabilitation needs as well as pain. Based in Santa Monica, California, he provides expert witness services and comprehensive life care planning for personal injury cases nationwide.
Dr. Fowler completed his Pain Medicine Fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles/West Los Angeles VA Hospitals, following his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital/Harvard Medical School, where he trained across inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation — including brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, amputee, and general rehabilitation services. He completed his preliminary medicine internship at Greenwich Hospital/Yale School of Medicine. As Associate Director at California Pain Medicine Center, he performs a full range of interventional procedures under ultrasound and fluoroscopic guidance, including nerve blocks, epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulation, minimally invasive lumbar decompression, and regenerative medicine with orthobiologics.
Dr. Fowler maintains an active academic profile, serving as principal investigator for ongoing studies in pain medicine and contributing to research across sports medicine, adaptive athletics, and complex pain syndromes, with publications and presentations at national conferences. This keeps him current with evidence-based protocols across rehabilitation and pain care.
Dr. Fowler provides balanced, objective assessments for both plaintiff and defense counsel, with life care plans grounded in current medical literature and realistic treatment outcomes based on his extensive direct clinical experience and background.
